HOW I STARTED MAKING HANDCRAFTED, NATURAL SOAP

My passion for beautiful scents and fragrances started at the age of 10 when I used to experiment by mixing different fragrances to try and create new and exciting scents. Thirty years later, I longed for creating and experimenting once again, so I combined my childhood passion for mixing fragrances with a new love for handcrafted, natural soap.

At the time, I was buying natural soaps from farmers markets to help soothe and hydrate my dry, itchy skin. I had learned that most store-bought soaps are manufactured with harsh chemicals, like sodium lauryl sulfate, to produce a rich lather. While most people believe a rich lather is good, too much of it actually leaves our skin very dry and susceptible to skin conditions like eczema.

My search for a more fragrant natural soap

With natural soaps, I could still lather up without damaging my skin; although I wasn’t fully satisfied. I found myself missing the fragrant smell of my old soap. Many of the natural soaps I found were unscented or made with essential oils that lacked a beautiful fragrance.

Reluctant to go back to manufactured soap, I began looking for the best of both worlds – great smelling, handmade soap made with all-natural oils and butters. After taking a soap-making class and discovering phthalate-free fragrances, my search was over, and I began to make my own soap. As my new passion grew, I realized my calling – Elemental BlueTM.

Sharing my passion with you

Since then, I’ve learned how to make other skin care products, including bath bombs, mineral bath, sugar scrub and moisturizers. I make everything with natural ingredients and phthalate-free fragrances, so your skin feels good and smells good. Today, I sell online and in a few stores around Columbus, Ohio. I also enjoy working with larger brands to develop recipes and establish private label partnerships. Learn more about what we offer and how it can help your skin and overall well being.
