Offering wonderful-smelling, handcrafted soap is what started us on our Elemental Blue journey, and it remains core to what we do today.
We carefully make each batch of soap with the perfect combination of saponified, organic oils and moisturizing butters. How the soap smells is just as important as how it cleans and moisturizes your skin, so we also add safe, phthalate-free fragrances for an amazing scent. We never add harsh ingredients like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which strip all of your skin’s natural oils, causing dryness, itchiness and even eczema.
Rest assured, you’re getting premium, high quality, handcrafted soap when you choose Elemental Blue. It truly is a treat for your skin, leaving you softer and smoother, and smelling fantastic!
What’s the process for making Elemental Blue soap?
We use the cold process method to make our soap, which takes time and patience, but it’s worth it for your skin! First, we mix the lye with the oils and melted butters and add phthalate-free fragrances and color. We then pour the soap mixture into molds, cover them up and let the soap saponify for about two days. Once the soap is hard enough, we cut it into bars and then let them sit for four weeks to harden even more before we package them up to sell. The longer the soap sits, the longer it will last when using.
How long does our soap last?
From our experience and from what our customers tell us, our soap will last anywhere between one to two weeks of using it. It all depends on how often you shower, how hard you scrub and where you put your soap in the shower. Placing your soap away from the water in a place where it can stay dry in between showers will help make it last longer.
If you buy our soap and don’t use it for a long time, no worries. The pH level of cold process soap does not allow mold or bacteria to grow, so the shelf life of our soap can be a couple of years. The fragrance will tend to fade after a year, so we recommend using it within a year after buying it.
